From engineering to design is the long story short,
Thanks to travels afar with time for thought.

Before finding my one true love, motion graphics, I was once upon a time in a galaxy far away, a civil engineer. While I really enjoyed working as an engineer, I constantly suffered from a stubborn creative itch that had always been there and wouldn’t go away. Upon returning to Sydney from a round the world trip with much time to think (and scratch), I found myself at a crossroads working full time nocturnally in cocktail bars all over pre-lockout Sydney, reluctant to return to my engineering profession in search of a cure to my artistic ailment. So I finally made the jump to go back to study graphic design at the Design Centre Enmore, where I opened After Effects for the first time and there she was… it was love at first sight. Throughout my journey I’ve come to terms with my unhealthy obsession with numbers and maths, my guilty pleasure for letters and typography (I really hope we can still be friends), and my sleep depriving love of people, even when they’ve had too much to drink… though I am happy now that I don’t have to serve them anymore.

Design and motion is my jam,
But solving problems is the plan.

With experience working in broadcast, production and advertising agencies, I enjoy creative problem solving at every phase of the project pipeline from concept to delivery. I am continually fascinated by the visual, conceptual and quantitative problem solving aspects of motion graphics, which all serve as perfect outlets for my OCD. Other practical applications of my OCD include:

• Packing the car for a camping trip like a Tetris Jedi Master Prodigy

• Same thing with the fridge (warm beer is unAustralian)

• Naming every single layer in my working files (and then God said, let there be light)
